Carnelian is a variety of Chalcedony, that comes in shades of red, browns, amber and orange. It can be vert translucent, or appear nearly opaque, but light will shine through most true carnelian stones. Carnelian that has banded patterns would also be considered an agate (commonly know as Sardonyx). Most often associated to the lower chakras, particularly the sacral chakra, Carnelian is a stone that offers grounding and stability, and can enhance sexual energy. Also used to tap into the solar plexus chakra, as an aid for creativity and communication. *Please Note: All our organic gemstones and crystals are formed by Mother Earth.
